Our expert instructors will guide you in a private lesson where you will learn the ins and outs of all of the woodworking machinery in the shop, as well as tricks and jigs which will help you get the most of your time woodworking.
Note: The course outline is designed to be flexible, allowing for adjustments based on the student's progress and specific woodworking interests. The instructor will adapt the pace and content to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
**If you have a specific project in mind, or would like to learn a certain tool/machine, etc. Please let us know and we will focus the lesson on it.
Course Outline: One-on-One Woodworking Class
1: Introduction to Woodworking and Shop Safety
- Overview of woodworking tools and equipment
- Introduction to the shop machines: jointer, planer, table saw, band saw, router table, and drill press
- Safety guidelines and procedures for using the machines
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
2: Jointer
- Explanation of the jointer's purpose and functionality
- Demonstration of jointer setup and calibration
- Techniques for jointing edges and faces of boards
- Hands-on practice under instructor guidance
3: Planer
- Introduction to the planer and its role in woodworking
- Demonstration of planer setup and adjustment
- Techniques for flattening and thinning boards
- Practical exercises to gain proficiency
4: Table Saw
- Overview of the table saw's functions and features
- Explanation of blade selection, setup, and alignment
- Basic cuts: crosscut, rip cut, and miter cut
- Safety precautions and techniques for accurate cuts
5: Band Saw
